Nadia Cakes | Branding + Design
Walnut Creek, CA · 2,200 sq ft

Credits & Story
Being tasked with designing the brand's very first shop for founder Abby Jimenez, long before she became a New York Times bestselling romance author, meant articulating her original vision, humor, and distinct creative spirit from the ground up. Designed as a full sensory getaway for dessert lovers and storybook fans alike, Nadia Cakes transforms the traditional bakery run into a whimsical, boutique destination. Much like her novels, the space captures a signature mix of sweetness and attitude: soft pink blush walls and statement chandeliers meet playfully bold choices, like damask gold-foil wallpaper cleverly woven with hidden everyday objects, all set to an upbeat, contemporary soundtrack. Complete with cozy vintage consultation nooks for custom cake planning, artisanal ice cream counters, and a curated corner showcasing Abby's signed books, the entire interior radiates warmth, magic, and sweet charm.
My favorite detail
The custom arched cupcake display case is the best "seat" in the house. Designed to envelop you as you step inside its curve, it lets you stand right in the middle of the arch for a breathtaking, panoramic view of every single daily flavor and award-winning cheesecake available at once. The view is worth every second spent in the queue!
